We learn about what the universe is and what it is made up of. We follow the learning of scientists over the ages as they slowly understood more and more about what they saw when they looked up. We learn about the predictable patterns of movement of all objects in the night sky and we discover how we have used technology to explore and probe into our own corner of the universe.
Air is not something we usually think about. We can't see it, taste it, smell it, or usually even hear it. Yet it is essential to understand air and its properties if we are to understand how flight is achieved. We learn the scientific process and use several experiments to discover the intriguing nature of air, air pressure, and aerodynamics.
Using our knowledge about air, we proceed to uncover the secrets of achieving flight, a goal that eluded humans until very recently. We learn how to get into the air, and equally important, how to manoeuvre safely.
